The REM Bar
The REM Bar
33 Sackville Street, Manchester, United Kingdom, M1 3LZ

REM Bar is a long-running gay bar in Manchester’s Gay Village, set on the corner of Sackville Street and Canal Street as part of The Rembrandt complex. The venue combines a traditional pub feel with live entertainment and a social crowd, making it a good choice if you want something more relaxed than the bigger late-night clubs nearby. The Rembrandt itself also operates as a hotel and nightclub venue.
The crowd tends to skew toward gay men, with a particular following among bears and the leather crowd, though the atmosphere is generally welcoming and unpretentious. There is outdoor seating right by the Village, so on warmer evenings it is a good place to grab a drink and watch Canal Street go by.
If you prefer a classic Manchester gay bar with plenty of character over a polished cocktail lounge, REM Bar is worth adding to the crawl.
