Ibiza Gay Bars

Bar Monalisa has been a fixture of Ibiza's gay scene since 2009, located near the Ramparts. It's a cocktail bar with a slightly eccentric side: plush sofas, indoor swings, changing décor, and a large terrace that can turn into an impromptu disco.

People come to have a drink, catch up with friends, and meet strangers, often staying much longer than planned. The music is a big part of the appeal, as are the friendly staff and the mix of regulars, holidaymakers, and occasional famous faces. It's predominantly gay, but everyone is welcome.

Please note that Bar Monalisa is open seasonally, from summer to winter.

Located at the 'town end' of Calle de la Virgen, Lady D.ibiza is likely to be one of the first gay bars you will see in the street. Just look for the iconic British phone box doors.

DADO (aka 'Dragon') is run by some of the friendliest gay couples you'll meet in Ibiza - Dado and his partner Jens. So, drop by and say hello.

This very popular bar & terrace, located on the narrow Calle de la Virgen, serves beers, cocktails plus delicious non-alcoholic options. The homemade Ginger Squash is our favorite.

Sunrise has one of the funkiest interiors on Calle de la Virgen (neon lights, swings hanging from the ceiling). But like the next-door DADO Bar, the bar has a good-sized terrace on the street that helps give this place a great atmosphere.

A very friendly team behind the bar supports the hunky waiter staff who serve the tables. We enjoyed our visit and are sure you will, too. Special event every Saturday night. Open on weekends during the winter season.

Open since 1982, JJ Bar is one of Ibiza's oldest gay bars, tucked away at the far end of Calle de la Virgen (now Carrer de la Mare de Déu), the island's famous gay nightlife street. Unlike many of Ibiza's flashier venues, JJ has retained the feel of a traditional neighbourhood bar, with friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks, and a balcony overlooking Ibiza Port and the sea.

Juan, the resident bartender for over 25 years, is something of a local institution, particularly for his mojitos and margaritas. It's a good place to start the night, meet other travellers, or stop for one last drink before heading home.

JJ Bar opens nightly from May to October and on weekends during winter.

Bar Nini is a gay-friendly cocktail bar in the heart of Ibiza Town, close to the harbour. Its outdoor terrace is a lovely place to settle in with a drink, watch the passing crowds, and enjoy the bustle of Ibiza's nightlife.

The bar serves a good selection of cocktails and wines. The French owner, Olivier, is frequently praised for his warm hospitality and attentive service. It's a relaxed, sociable place to spend an evening, whether you're meeting friends or simply watching the world go by.

The gay-popular rooftop pool bar at Hotel Cenit serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Open to non-guests. The Cenit bar gets very busy (and cruisy) in the late afternoons and early evenings.
