New Delhi Gay Bars

Gay New Delhi Bars & Clubs

New Delhi, the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural capital city of India with a small and discreet gay scene.

Is there LGBTQ+ nightlife in New Delhi?

Delhi’s nightlife is about more than historic monuments and markets. While the city does not have a traditional gay village, its gay nightlife scene is growing, with LGBT-friendly bars, clubs, cultural spaces and regular LGBTQ nights taking place across South Delhi, Hauz Khas and Connaught Place.

Many of Delhi’s most popular nightlife venues are not dedicated gay bars, but they are welcoming spaces where the local gay community gathers for parties, drag shows, music events and social nights. For travellers looking to experience Delhi after dark, the city offers a more discreet but rewarding nightlife scene with plenty of places to meet locals and enjoy a night out.

Depot48 is one of New Delhi’s most established queer-friendly nightlife spaces, known for its blend of independent music and a consistently inclusive, come-as-you-are atmosphere.

Founded in 2014, it has become a key part of the city’s LGBTQ+ social life - not as a designated gay bar, but as a space where queer presence is natural, visible, and fully integrated. In a city with limited dedicated queer venues, Depot48 stands out as a reliable, community-led space where artists, regulars, and travellers mix easily.

It's long-running Pink Thursday nights, launched before the decriminalisation of homosexuality in India, remain a staple of Delhi’s queer calendar, featuring drag, DJs, karaoke, and an open, mixed dancefloor.

The venue has also introduced Night Shift, a Saturday night rooftop event centred around queer energy, DJ-led sets, and a more dancefloor-driven vibe, drawing a more grown-up crowd that knows exactly why it’s there.

Split between an intimate indoor performance space and an open-air terrace, Depot48 moves from live music to club-style nights with ease. There’s no strict door policy or scene to fit into - just a space where people show up as they are.

For travellers looking to experience Delhi’s queer nightlife beyond labels, Depot48 remains one of the city’s most consistent and lived-in spaces.
